[The End -- Leaving through the portal]

She looked on with a pained expression, tears welding up in ebon lined lids. Blue eyes grew grey in comparison to the bright light flooding from the portal now opened and pulsating just feet away from them. "Matt," she started in a fearful tone, choked from emotion and frustration.

"Jil, come on," he turned, grabbing up her forearms in hand and giving a courageous squeeze, "we have to go-,"

"No-," she started, pulling up her hands to retract in fear.

"Jil, we don't have time!" Matt yelled, glancing back to the portal with large eyes, teddy brown eyes grown strict as his expression contorted with loss.

"Matt, no-!" Choked with tears, she began to weep in his arms, her head rolling forward as blonde hair covered a pale expression pained with the uncomfortable position they now found themselves in. A position she knew was coming, a moment in time they both knew silently would approach.

"Jil, stop this shit! We have to go-!" He gave a yank, nearly throwing her body in a heap towards the violently screeching portal.

Mithaniel stepped a cloven hoof towards them, hand to his hilt as his wettened eyes narrowed. "Let her go, Matthew-!"

"Stay out of this! The existance of us here was a mistake! A mistake you put us in!" Attention back down upon the girl in hand, Jil cried out loudly to his squeezing palms. "I've lost everything!" He yelled at the top of his lungs, tears becoming apparent in his own eyelids. "I've lost my career! My life! And my dad-?! What about him, Jil! What about my life!" The force of his hold was so great, it pushed the girl to the ground on her knees before him, his face contorted wickedly with pain and anger, frustration and madness. "We have to go home, Jil! We don't belong here!"

"No, Matt! Please-!" Her head rolled back, grey eyes peircing up into his own as tears stained her face, ebon charcoal running to the corner of her eyes. "Don't go!"

"Are you mad!"

"Let her go-!" Mithaniel roared, withdrawing the longsword and cleansing the air before him as he took another step closer.

"No, Matt!" Jil screamed up to him, her hair a jumbled mess as her head shook wildly from side to side. "I can't go back! There's a force that completes me here! I've escaped the voices! The sounds in my head as I lay in bed at night!"

Both now weeping uncontrollably, they held at each other deathly tight, afraid to lose one another. Matt kept his hold on her, tears falling from his cheek bones and pooling down onto her pale face that already river her own.

"I love you, Matt!" She screamed, reaching out a palm as best she could past his grip to cup at his face. "I fucking love you!" Nearly inaudible past the deafening screams of the portal, past the choking weeps. "You have changed my life! The meaning to who I am! I wont go back to the voices, Matthew! I can't go back to that pain! I can't go back!"

He choked, mouth parting as he gnawed to the air, tears continuing to drip downward as he roughly threw his hands to grip her head in his palms, nearly tearing out her hair that entangled within his clenched fingers.

"I love you!" She screamed hoarsely, peering through the fog of her tears.

He never answered. Still gripping her hair, bent over and crashed his head against hers roughly, painfully wincing his eyes shut as he held her head to his own. A silence past the screaming portal engulfed was bond they had... what love they could've had. It was but for a moment that he held her one last time, savoring the smell of her hair, the feel of her skin, tasting the salt as he kissed her lips roughly, nearly biting blood from her lower lip.

But yet, he threw her aside; her body falling in a heap of rocking screams as he ran past her, breaking through the portal with a shielded arm cross.

As she lay, Mithaniel ran to her side, a massive tower that knelt and offered comfort that would not come to be accepted. She simply lay, weeping loudly as she slowly rocked back and forth, holding her face.

Pained expression as the draenei lowered his head.

'Was it for the best...?'

"We'll never know. We should never know that, Jil."

'But Matt-...'

"Jil... some things in life are meant to be unknown. Their's meant to be mystery. Meant to be the unknown."

A harvest had come but left just as quickly, leaving many in recollection of recent war and tearrany. Just what was it that became of that Man? The Man that came with the Girl in hand? Valin remained vigilant in his silence, never shedding a word to his priests or the under hands. Instead, remaining in quiet audience with the Girl. He'd visit her religiously, councelling on the word of the Light. The word of truth in a troubled mind that saw no less then faith in the next step she'd take. She was an outsider... an alien to this distant place.

"Jil...?" Mithaniel peered into the library, glancing for but a moment towards the balcony and parapets.

She stood lone... a book fallen from hand nearby her bare feet as she gazed longingly over the height of nearer the edge where she stood.

"Jil-," cloven hooves quickly stepped out to follow, hand outsretched to catch in case of a mistep, "wha-what're you doing out here-?"

"Was he right?"

"Who?"

"Is there really things to be left unsaid? Things to be left undone? We weren't meant for this. We-... weren't meant for each other."

"... I don't know."

"I miss him. Everyday. I think about him. Everyday. Maybe that's where we went wrong? Perhaps missing someone is something that's never to be explained. We don't know why we do... but my brain fell in love with his. It's my head that misses him," she glanced back over her shoulder, foreign stare within grey occulars, "not me."

"Love...?"
"You hardly know me."
"Do I have to?"
"... But love is-,"
"Is it for us to say what it is? I feel this for you. Deep in my bones, deep in my soul, deep in the fiber of who I am, Matt. Don't look away-! Please! Don't shun me for all that I've said to you! This is who I am! This is what I am... This is all for you."
